Get Together
Directed by- Veronica “V Chip” Hinds
This is the video is from the FreeEP Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes, Get Together is my favorite song of that project. The look for this video is dark and moody it kind of reminds me of Eyes Wide Shut or The Shining for some reason. I just want to know where are they going? And what is behind that door?

It’s always a pleasure to see Georgia Ann Muldrow and Dudley Perkins performing live.. there is a certain chemistry/synergy that they share on stage that is undeniable. So last week the LUV4ART fam decided to travel to SOB’s in the pouring rain to catch a rare east coast appearance by G&D.
I decided to bring my camera to capture some footage for this here blog and Bushman got some video footage that we’ll post in the coming weeks. So here are some of my favorite photos from the evening out of the 200+ that I took… enjoy.
The latest G&D album is available now and the new Georgia Ann Muldrow album Kings Ballad is available on Ubiquity Records…more photos after the jump.
I’m a serious nerd when it comes to documentaries about musicians, and this one on J Dilla just made my day. This is part 1 of a 3 part series produced by the folks @ Stussy more info below:
On Saturday Febuary 13th, 2010 to celebrate the life of brilliant hip hop producer and rapper James “J Dilla” Yancey, Stussy is releasing a limited edition tee shirt produced in conjunction with Stones Throw and the Dilla Estate. For the release, Stussy is holding “Dilla Day” events at some of our North American stores.

When Your Girlfriends Get Engaged and Your Shade of Green Isn’t the New Black
Attention Single Ladies! Do your eyes involuntarily roll to the back of your head and do your find that your teeth automatically make this sucking sound when your girlfriend’s Facebook status goes from “single” to “in a relationship?” Do you get downright nauseous when you see that little red heart and the words “(So-n-so) is engaged?” Do you find yourself just wanting to throw up every time she refers to her boyfriend as “My Fiancé” (instead of, “Do you know what that mu@#!! did?”) Do you secretly wish that you could pull a lever and a safe would fall out of the sky and crush your friend every time she refers to him as, “My huuzzband,” and they ain’t even married yet!
Well Ladies….it sounds as if you have caught a case of the” 1JH virus.” You have become, “One Jealous Heffah!” Make like a coupon and “Cut It Out!!!” This is not the time for you to hate on your friend, this is the time for you to be happy for her and share in her joy. Even if deep down inside you don’t feel like being happy for her…it’s OK…take the higher, classier road and act like you’re happy anyways! Read More

Here’s a Valentine’s Mix by a Philly Dj who knows his soul music.. Cosmo Baker… this was his mix for last year, like myself I think he said he was too lazy to put together a mix for this year, but I guarantee you this is one of the best Valentine’s Day mixes you will hear. Check the track list after the jump.

Valentine’s Love Mix put together by the homie Snugg Digemz III. I heard this mix in the early stages and the selections were on point…. eclectic but in the pocket.. check out his description below.
This is a mix I put together with that warm fuzzy feeling you get in your stomach in mind. This is the sound my heart makes (laser sound effects included) when my brain makes the mistake of falling in love
. Forward this to a loved one (present, future, or past) as a small free gift for Valentine’s Day (just don’t tell them it was free, say you paid for it on iTunes or something), or listen to it and pretend I mixed it just for you (because I really didn’t, I mixed this for ALL to enjoy!). I’m going to withhold on a tracklist this time, just listen to it. Crack open a bottle of wine or light up a serenade joint, cuddle up next to a special someone and enjoy.
Tracks are from a Josh and a Beth, a Sam and a Vashti, a J. and a J., a Michael and a Lauryn (now I’ve already revealed too much), and much, much more.

So nice to have the entire LUV Radio family in the building at the same time… Ivory Dome, Bushman, Naya Tabia and myself (unfortunately we didn’t have Ms. Lisa Slade in the building). It was a nice reunion…. a lot of jokes, discussions on sex, politics, and Bushman trying to get the ladies to give him a kiss… ahh just like old times. We also had a pretty serious discussion about relief efforts in Haiti. Overall good times and look below… a track listing (trying to be better in 2010). Enjoy!!!

My favorite artist is back with New Amerika part 2…Return of The Ankhdue out on 3/30/2009 (yeah it has to do with numerology). The title must be in reference to the return of the original badu sound.. a return to live instrumentation featuring Questlove and James Posyer of the Soulaquarians. On another note this song makes me think of drifting high amongst the clouds just letting your mind float while in flight…ahhh LUV you Ms. Badu.

It’s always god to hear new music from our good friend Bosco.. she tend to experiment with sound, and that’s a good thing. On her new song Ragdoll Bosco is really channeling some serious southern-Blues/Rock n Roll sound. Basically she is bringing “it” on this track. I also love the visuals for this new record kind of a dark, old school, grainy film type look… as a design head I can respect the vision. Now go get this song at Bosco’s Bandcamp page and see for yourself.
