Starring Zoe Kravitz, in her first lead role, YELLING TO THE SKY tells the story of Sweetness O’Hara, a 17-year-old girl who is left to fend for herself as her family falls apart, in a neighborhood where her survival is uncertain. This coming-of-age film also features Gabourey Sidibe in her second role after receiving a 2010 Best Actress Oscar-nomination for “Precious” and Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter of The Roots. YELLING TO THE SKY premiered, in competition, at the Berlin Film Festival.

This is a African American filmmakers movie. If you are a lover of the panthers story and a fan of good acting, this may be the movie to watch. This may be the movie to watch, but I’m not co-signing on any film without seeing it. But from what I see I like. Directed and written by Tanya Hamilton…staring Kerry Washington, Anthony Mackie and Jamie Hecto. Her first film that took ten years to produce, now ready for us to view.
